Two people were sent to a hospital this morning after a three-vehicle accident on the 22nd Avenue downtown overpass.
Detective Deano Harper, spokesman for the Meridian Police Department, said details remained sketchy because the investigation was incomplete.
Harper said the vehicles were involved in a chain reaction, bumper-to-bumper collision while heading north on the 22nd Avenue bridge and approaching a traffic signal.
The vehicles sustained moderate damage and the northbound lane of the bridge was temporarily closed.
While there were no serious injuries, Harper said two people involved complained of pains and were transported to a hospital as a precaution.
