West Lauderdale wins 5-3A title

West Lauderdale won it's 20th consecutive Division 5-3A championship with a 21-2 win over the homestanding Choctaw Central Friday night.
The Knights are 17-6 for the year with a flawless 8-0 division record with only two games remaining.
Trent Posey was the winning pitcher for the Knights upping his record to 6-1. Bo Davis was the leading hitter for West Lauderdale with three hits. The Knight combined for a total of 15 hits and one error.
West Lowndes 6
Noxapater 5
Noxapater took a 6-5 loss last night to visiting West Lowndes. Noxapater had six hits and five errors scoring runs in the fifth and ninth innings. West Lowndes finished the game with a game winning three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Noxapater will travel to Carthage on Tuesday.

Heidelberg 17
Lamar 16
Lamar was defeated 17-16 Friday night in girls softball action by the homestanding Heidelberg Academy. The loss makes Lamar's record 5-2 for the year. Lamar opened up the scoring early in the match with four runs in the top of the first inning.
The Lady Rebels answered with three runs in the bottom of the first. Lamar scored two runs in the top of the third but fell behind 7-6 when Heidelberg Academy drove in four runs in the bottom of the inning. The third inning was scoreless for both of the teams.
The Lady Rebels advanced their lead in the fourth inning by one out scoring the Lady Raiders 5-4 in the inning. Lamar was out scored again in the fifth making the score 17-12 going into the sixth and final inning. The Lady Raiders got hot with the bat in the top of the inning scoring four runs. The effort was not enough as the Lady Rebels got the 17-16 win.
Olivia Hill was 4-for-5 with four RBI for the Lady Raiders. Lindsey Williams was 4-for-4 also contributing four RBI. Sherly Luquire hit the only home run for Lamar. The Lady Raiders will play host to Macon Central Monday with action starting at 4 p.m.
Clarkdale 6
Newton County 4
Clarkdale defeated the homestanding Newton County Friday night 6-4 in girls softball action. Emily Howard was the winning pitcher for Clarkdale with seven strike outs.
Brandi Wright led the offense going 2-for-4 on the night while JorD'an Orr was 2-for-3 to aid the Lady Bulldogs efforts. The win ups Clarkdale's record to 21-9-1 on the year. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to South Jones on Monday.
Neshoba Central 4
Northeast 3
Neshoba Central defeated the visiting Northeast Lauderdale 4-3 Friday night in girls softball action. Neshoba Central came from behind late in the seventh inning to capture the victory.
Kady Chandler had four strike outs for the Lady Rockets to move to 5-4 on the mound. Sarah Williamson went 2-for-3 to help the Neshoba Central effort. The Lady Rockets will see action Tuesday against Aberdeen.
South Jones 3
Meridian 0
South Jones defeated the visiting Meridian High Wildcats Friday night in a 3-0 shut out. The Lady Braves scored single runs in the third, fourth and seventh innings.
Emily Laird received the winning pitcher honors. Meridian continues it's action when it plays host to the Meridian High Invitational. The tournament will start at 9:30 at Northeast Park. Meridian will play Petal, Choctaw Central and West Point today.
