On Saturday afternoon, the Meridian Wildcats ripped the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers 13-1 here at Tiger Field.
Tyler Maxwell picked the win to move to 5-2 on the year.
Maurice Cole led the Wildcats with three hits, including a double and two stolen bases.
Richmond Alexander, John Iverson, and Lance Burnham all contributed doubles in the win. John Stevens tossed in a double, while Torrie Bates added another home run.
The 25-5 Cats will play again Tuesday in Brandon.
Meridian 18
Philadelphia 4
The Meridian Wildcats thumped Philadelphia Friday afternoon, 18-4 in a nondivison contest.
John Iverson took the win for the Cats, as he fanned eight Tornado batters.
Torry Bates had the hot-bat for Meridian, as he was 4-for-4 with a homer, two doubles, and five RBIs.
Richmond Alexander, John Stevens, Iverson, and Pierre Henderson all had two hits apiece.
With the win Meridian moved to 24-5 on the year.
West Lauderdale 7
Wayne County 5
The West Lauderdale Knights picked up their 18th win of the season, by knocking off Wayne County 7-5.
Jamie Fontan took the win for the Knights, while Trent Posey recorded the save.
Bo Davis was 3-for-4, Ike Munn was 2-for-4, Van Wilson went 2-for-3 with a homer, and Richie McAllister was 2-for-3 for the Knights.
West Lauderdale will play Southeast Tuesday night.
Union 11
Pisgah 0
The Union Yellow Jackets Knocked off Pisgah 11-0 Friday afternoon in a class 1A battle.
Brooks Vance took the win for the Jackets.
Jacob Casey had a double and a triple, while Eric Graham was 2-for-3 with a double and a homer. Danny Cain was 2-for-3 and Jody Blount was 2-for-4.
Morton 4
Union 3
The Morton Panthers slipped by Union Saturday afternoon, 4-3.
The game was tied at three runs apiece, until late in the game, when Morton found another run to make the score 4-3.
Eric Graham suffered the loss on the mound, but he did make up for the loss with a double.
Jordan Robinson and Jody Blount were 2-for-4, while Zach Robinson was 2-for-3. Danny Cain also contributed a double in the loss.
S. Choctaw 16
Patrician 7
South Choctaw Academy ripped Patrician 16-7 on Saturday in Alabama Independant School Association action.
SCA improves to 10-2 on the season.
Brad Johnson went 5 2/3 innings to grab the win. He struck out five while limiting Patrician to five hits.
SCA took command of the game with four runs in the fourth inning. Two came on a on a single by Jared Linder. Johnson had a RBI double in the frame as well.
Linder finished with four RBIs in the game on two hits. Dusty Johnson was 3-for-4. Brad Johnson was 2-for-5. Terry Johnson and Justin Bonner both went 2-for-5 with two RBIs apiece.
SCA returns to action with a road game at Jackson Academy in Jackson, Ala.
Clarkdale 15
Scott Central 0
Clarkdale won its fourth division game of the season with a 15-0 blanking of Scott Central on Friday night.
The Bulldogs were led by pitcher Jared Ware who struck out eight and scattered five hits in the shutout.
The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the fourth inning to bust the game open.
Brandon Mabry had two hits and three runs scored. Justin Hinson had three hits including a pair of doubles and drove in three runs. Dusty Webb had three hits.
