Mr. and Mrs. Oliver K. Chipley of Bellamy, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Melba Anne, to Gary Lee Peters, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Peters of Sanford, Mich.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 6 p.m. at Lamkin Memorial Church in Bellamy.
Miss Chipley is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dorsey of Carthage and the late Mr. and Mrs. James K. Chipley from Kosciusko.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Demopolis Academy and Alabama Southern Community College. She also attended the University of West Alabama.
While attending UWA, she was a member of UWA softball team and a little sister for the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
Miss Chipley is a nurse at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home in Meridian.
Mr. Peters is employed by Snap-On Tools in Auburn Hills, Mich.
A reception will be held at the home of the brides parent's in Bellamy following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
