GOLF TOURNAMENTS
Three person Select Golf Tournament
There will be a three-person select golf tournament held Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, 2002, at the Decatur Country Club. Entry fee is $90 per team with 36 holes with mulligan. Rush Hospital and Boy Scouts Benefit Tournament
Rush Hospital and the Boy Scouts will hold a four ball format golf tournament at Briarwood Country Club May 4-5, 2002. The entry fee is $200. Cash prizes and gift certificates will be given to the 1-7 places. A seven shot maximum from the leader improvement rule applies to Sunday's score except championship and first flight. White tees, shotgun start Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. First 96 teams play with a practice round may be played the week of the tournament. Lakeview Golf Association
There will be a two person scramble Saturday and Sunday April 20-21, 2002 at Lakeview Golf Club. Entry fee is $45 per person and $90 per team with starting times at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Food and drinks will be served Saturday only. For more information call 693-3301.
Northwood Country Club Spring 4-Ball
There will be a four ball spring golf tournament held at Northwood Country Club Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, 2002. It will be a four ball stroke play and if playing on Saturday morning, you will play on Sunday afternoon and will play with same group both days. There will be a maximum of 84 teams. Entry fee is $160 per team, with 1-8 teams being awarded prizes. Entertainment and a luncheon will be served to all players on hole 11 from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Each team may be play one practice round during the week prior to the tournament.
Newton Country Club three person scramble
There will be a three person scramble at the Newton Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, 2002. The entry fee is $25 per person ( field will be limited to the first 24 teams) Tee times are 1 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. ARCHERY
3-D Archery Tournament
A 3-D Archery Tournament hosted by the Southern Traditional Archery will be held Saturday and Sunday May 18-19 with registration to be 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Enid Lake Dam. Traditional archery equipment only ( recurve, longbow, selfbow) For more information contact Artie Stewart at 662-473-9175.

Causeyville Raceway
The Go-Kart racing season is under way at Causeyville Raceway.

SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS
Meridian Invitational Softball Tournament
The Meridian Invitational Softball Tournament will be held at the Sammie Davidson Softball Complex Saturday May 4, 2002. There will be a two hour limit for co-ed teams and a one hour limit for men's class "D". The entry fee is $125. For more information call Alvin Alexander at 986-8594 or V.L. Mott at 482-3639.
Mother's Day Softball Classic
There will be a Mother's Day softball Classic held May 11, 2002 at the Sammie Davidson Softball Complex. There will be men's and women's teams with a men's 4HR and out included. Entry fee is $125. For more information contact V.L. Mott at 482-3639 or Alvin Alexander at 986-8594.
College Park Auto and Super Lube Softball Classic
The 15th Annual College Park Auto and Super Lube Classic will be held at the Sammie Davidson Complex Saturday, April 27, 2002. Men's 4HR and Out will apply and team trophies will be awarded in 1-3 place finishes. Individual Awards t-shirts will be awarded to first and second place finishers. Entry Fee is $125. Pinebelt Classic Invitational Softball Tournament
The Pinebelt Classic Invitational Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, April 20, 2002, at the Laurel Sportsplex. This is the regional qualifier, is a USSA sanctioned event. Entry fee is $160 and for more information call Larry Green at 428-8851.
