50th anniversary
Keith and Naomi Bostick, residents of the Sandtown Community of Neshoba County, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married April 6, 1952, by the Rev. Wilmer Clay. They have three children: Ray Bostick and Gaye Bryant, both of Philadelphia, and Bennie of Ridgeland; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Keith is a retired engineer from Southern National Gas Co., a retired member of plant management with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and a retired business owner. Naomi has been a wife, mother and homemaker for her family. They are members of the Sandtown United Methodist Church. The couple are celebrating their anniversary by vacationing in the mountains of western North Carolina.
40th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Cobert Cleveland of Decatur celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary March 10, 2002, in the home of Christy and Leighton Ezell. Their children, Christy Cleveland Ezell and Cory Cleveland hosted the reception along with their grandchildren, Chris, Colby and Chelsy Ezell. Mrs. Cleveland is the former Carlene Doyle.
Parker celebrates 80th birthday
The children of Ruby Hatcher Parker will host a 80th birthday celebration Saturday, April 13, 2002, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Collinsville Community Center. Mrs. Parker and her late husband, Mode Parker, have four children, one of whom is deceased. They have 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Thompson celebrates 102nd birthday
Grace Ward Thompson celebrated her 102nd birthday March 9 with a party at the Velma Young Community Center. Five generations, about 65 guests, attended the celebration, hosted the family. Mrs. Thompson has one daughter, Margie Mack and her husband, Sherman Jr., of Meridian; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is the widow of the late Rev. J.H. Thompson of Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Thompson is a resident of Riley Nursing Center and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
