The Lady Bulldogs of Clarkdale took the first game of their softball series with Sumrall 12-0 on Thursday night.
JorD'an Orr went 2-for-3 with a home run and a triple to lead the Lady Bulldogs to victory.
Emily Howard picked up the win on the mound for Clarkdale, which is now 26-9-1 on the year.
Ashley Satcher went 2-for-2 and Kaylea Thrash also went 2-for-2 for the Lady Bulldogs.
The two teams will face each other again on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Clarkdale to decide who will win the best-of-three series.
Heidelberg 7
Lamar 6
Lamar fell to Heidelberg Academy 7-6 in softball action last night. Lamar scored three runs in the first and fourth innings but the effort was not enough to get the win. Alivia Hill, Lauren Roberts and Lizzy Williams all went 2-3 for the Lady Raiders.
The Lady Raiders will see action again tonight when they face Macon Central at the Northeast Recreational Park.
Patrician 4
S. Choctaw 1
Patrician improved it's record to 19-1 with a 4-1 win over South Choctaw last night in prep softball action.
Curby Baxter was the winning pitcher with 11 strike outs allowing only one hit.
Brook Norris was 2-4 for Patrician. Patrician will see action again Tuesday against Macon.

Patrician 5
South Central Choctaw defeated Patrician 9-5 in prep baseball action last night. Brad Johnson received the winning pitcher honors making his record 5-1.
Rob Dahlberg went 3-4 for South Choctaw and Justin Bonner was 2-3 with four RBI.
Clarkdale 11
Loyd Star 3
The Clarkdale Bulldogs defeated Loyd Star 11-3 in the first round of playoff action. Justin Brewer received the winning pitcher honors making his record 5-2.
Brewer also contributed three hits and 2 RBI. Brandon Maber scored three runs off four hits for the Bulldogs. Brian May and Alex Taylor also contributed two hits a piece.
Clarkdale and Loyd Star will see each other again tonight at Clarkdale in the second game of playoffs.
