Men who like trucks and other "boy toys" can enjoy a weekend of fun at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center's "Big Boy Toy Show" and they may be surprised to see how many big girls share their interest.
The show is sponsored by Clear Channel Radio, which owns Q-101, Kiss-104, Y-95, Oldies 97.9 and Sports Talk 1450 radio stations in Meridian.
Items on display will include power tools, chain saws, trucks, cars, RVs, campers, boats, 4-wheelers, jet skis, lawn equipment, satellite systems and big-screen televisions.
Featured entertainment will include the monster big-wheel truck "Grave Digger" and Dale Jarrett's UPS No. 88 race car. A NASCAR computer simulator will give participants a view of what NASCAR racing is like.
For younger children, Bucurel said, there will be a contest where participants cast a line from a fishing rod and reel to a target. The contest is free of charge and winners will receive trophies.
Concessions, featuring barbecue, pizza and hamburgers, will also be available. A three-day, two-night trip to New Orleans will be given away.
Bucurel said the "Big Boy Toy Show" is new to Meridian, but has been sponsored in other cities across the country by stations owned by Clear Channel Radio.
