The Sports Bulletin Board normally runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. There are three ways to submit items for publication. CANOEING
Okatatoma Festival
The 13th Annual Okatoma Festival in Collins will be held Saturday, May 4. The canoe race begins at Seminary at the bridge off highway 49 and ends at Sanford. The starting time for the race is 9 a.m. with the deadline start being at 10:30 a.m. Entry fee is $15 per person (two people per canoe). All entrants receive an Okatoma Festival t-shirt. Trophies will be awarded for first through third place finishes.
Rush Hospital and Boy Scouts Benefit Tournament
Rush Hospital and the Boy Scouts will hold a four-ball format golf tournament at Briarwood Country Club May 4-5. The entry fee is $200. Cash prizes and gift certificates will be given to places 1-7. A seven shot maximum from the leader improvement rule applies to Sunday's score except championship and first flight. Newton Country Club three-person scramble
There will be a three-person scramble at the Newton Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5. The entry fee is $25 per person ( field will be limited to the first 24 teams). BASEBALL
USSA Baseball Tournament
Natchitoches, La., will play host to a USSA Baseball Tournament. The tournament will be held on May 11-12 in Natchitoches at Highland Park. This tournament is open to all 12 and 14 year-old teams. TRYOUTS
ECCC to Hold Softball tryouts
East Central Community College will hold tryouts for the Lady Warrior fast-pitch softball team Monday, May 6 at the ECCC softball complex. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building. Lunch will be served at noon. At 12:45 p.m. a campus tour and question-and-answer session will be held. Meridian Invitational Softball Tournament
The Meridian Invitational Softball Tournament will be held at the Sammie Davidson Softball Complex Saturday, May 4, 2002. There will be a two-hour limit for co-ed teams and a one hour limit for men's class "D". The entry fee is $125. For more information call Alvin Alexander at 986-8594 or V.L. Mott at 482-3639.
Mother's Day Softball Classic
There will be a Mother's Day softball Classic held May 11, 2002 at the Sammie Davidson Softball Complex. There will be men's and women's teams with a men's 4HR-and-out included. Entry fee is $125. For more information contact V.L. Mott at 482-3639 or Alvin Alexander at 986-8594.
Choctaw Stars Softball Tournament
There will be a softball tournament for men and women May, 10-12, at the Pearl River Sofball Field. Entry Fee is $100 and is sponsored by the Choctaw Stars 12 and under NAYO Baseball Team. Entries will be limited to first eight men's teams and first eight women's teams. There will be t-shirts awarded to men and women winning teams, runner up trophies in each division. Men's Pre-Memorial Softball Tournament
The "TC Styles" Girls softball Team will be sponsoring a Men's pre-Memorial Softball Tournament May 18-19. The tournament will be played at the Kemper Industrial Park in DeKalb right off Highway 16. Entry Fee is $125 per team and must be turned in prior to the first game. MERIDIAN INVITATIONAL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT

University of Southern Mississippi Softball Tournament
The University of Southern Mississippi and Coca Cola classic will host a men's softball tournament and Diet Coke Classic and USM will host a women's softball tournament Saturday-Sunday, May 25-26t, at Hattiesburg Parks and Recreation, Tatum Park Softball Complex. Entry fee is $150 per team and deadline is Tuesday May 21. For more information contact Stephen Rey at 266-5405.
