Northeast holds commencement

Northeast High School's senior class of 2002 officially became graduates Tuesday when 125 diplomas were issued during commencement exercises at the school's football field.
During the program, honor graduates were recognized.
Delivering valedictory speeches were Dustin Craig Hedgpeth and Justin Alan Qualls. Hedgpeth had a grade point average of 4.35. Qualls graduated with a grade point average of 4.33.
Joseph Henry Hime gave the salutatory address. He had a grade point average of 4.32. Hime was also selected as the high school's Star Student this year. Star Students are selected from each high school based on academic excellence, ACT scores and scholastic averages.
Kristi Renae Swift, who graduated with high honors delivered the invocation for the class.
Other seniors who graduated with high honors were: Brandon Samuel Broadus, Tara Diane Clayton, Tina Sybre Dodd, Leslie Maria Downing, April Lynn Harper, Nicole Marie Lovett, Arlena Gabrielle Slay, Gena Elizabeth Springfield, Joseph Eugene Steinke, James Andrew Stribling, Allison Brooke Trammell, Heather Noelle Wallace and Jeremy Thomas Wright.
Seniors graduating with honors were: Marcus Allen Brown, Sydney Michelle Clayton, Rossie Coats, James Marcus Davis, Robert Wilton Gill, Nicholas Deshaun Greer, Chiquita Danyet Hopson, Candice Elizabeth Jones, William Gary Matlock, Lisa Anne Needler, Jeremy Alan Robinson, Bryan Adam Tardo and Tabitha Rachelle Wilson.
