Miss Hannah Brooke Melton and Dr. Mark Steven Elliott, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, March 30, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Meridian. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Raymond Leake.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lewis of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Melton of Clinton and Dr. Robert Elliott of Baton Rouge, La.
Grandparents of the bride are Margaret Watson Hannah and the late Gerald Salone Hannah of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Lillian Turner and the late John Hubert Turner of Leaksville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Lancaster of Greenville.
Nuptial music was provided by David Bishop, organist, and Barry Germany, pianist. Soloists were Valerie Bishop and Paulette Jones.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of white chiffon with a bodice defined by lace appliques and delicate beading. The beading accentuated the hemline of the A-line chapel-length skirt. She carried a bouquet of Virginia roses, white freesias, baby calla lilies, French tulips and tuberoses. The bouquet was was hand-tied with a ballet slipper tie of white satin ribbon trimmed in beads and seed pearls.
Standing in attendance were Alexander and Parker Elliott, children of the bridegroom. Ushers were Geoffrey Melton and Matthew Lewis, brothers of the bride, both of Meridian.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon, the couple resides in Meridian.
