Neshoba County officials said an autopsy was being conducted Saturday and a gun recovered at the scene of an apparent homicide will be sent for analysis to the Mississippi State Crime Lab in Jackson early next week.
Investigator Ralph Sciple of the Neshoba County Sheriff's Department said officers are investigating the murder of Thomas Bell, 31, of Gulfport, who died early Friday from multiple gunshot wounds.
Sciple said Bell was shot at about 5 a.m. at the home of his girlfriend. Sciple declined to identify the woman, but said Bell called her after the incident as she was on her way to work. She called 911 on her cell phone.
Bell was pronounced dead on arrival at Neshoba County General Hospital.
