WATKINS GLENN, N.Y. Jeff Gordon learns his lessons well. There is no better example than his victory Sunday in the Bud at the Glen, the first road racing win of his NASCAR career and one that could have escaped a poorer student of the sport. On lap 65, following a caution period, the 26-year-old Gordon was leading, with former Watkins Glen winners Rusty Wallace and Geoff Bodine close behind for the restart. As the leaders came off the last corner of the 2.450 mile, 11-turn Watkins Glen International race course, Wallace tried to snooker Gordon, driving up on the curbing on the outside of the turn and trying to get a run before they reached the flagstand.
