Massingill, Nelson win BCC Mixed Scramble

Ann Marie Massingill and Joel Nelson teamed up to shoot a 62 on Sunday to finish with a two-day 127 and win the Briarwood Mixed Scramble.
They edged out Leigh Phillips and Doyle Bryan who shot a 64 each day to finish one stroke back in the Championship Flight at 128.
According to Briarwood golf pro Rob McGraw, the tournament was a success.
"It went well," said McGraw of the tournament. "We had good weather and a good field. I think everybody had an excellent time."
The tournament enjoyed a good turnout with about 100 teams competing in the two-day event. The field was split into eight flights.
"It was about the best turnout we have ever had," said McGraw.
In the Championship Flight, Christy Strickland and Glenn Strickland took third place with a 64 on Sunday to give them a total of 130. Brian and Debbie Norris also had a 64 to finish in fourth place with a 131.
David and Laura Hoffman won first place in the First Flight. They finished with a 64 on Sunday to give them a two-day total of 131. Tiffany Plott and Benji Baskin took second one stroke back at 132 and Russell and Vivian Fowler finished in third with a 133. Lee and Nancy West shot a 134 to finish in fourth.
Kim and Lauren McLaurin finished first in the Second Flight after a 66 on Sunday. The pair finished at 137 for the tournament. Travis and Jeannie Taylor finished second with a 138 and Dick and Gail Taylor followed in third at 139. Sylvia and Robert Frazier finished out the top four with a 140.
In the Third Flight, Brandy Rawson and Tony Polizzi shot a 65 on Sunday to finish at 137. Mike and Danielle Morton finished in second at 141. Ted and Susan Ward also had a 141 as did Mike and Kim Fuqua.
Joe and Wanda Hutto shot a 69 to finish at 142 and win the Fourth Flight. Tim and Jacqueline Hogan finished in second at 143. Betty Lucas and Steve Anderson shot a 145 while Michael and Sue Waltman finished in fourth at 146.
Chuck and Becky Butler won the Fifth Flight with a 144. Fran and Joyce Lee finished second at 145. Mike and Amanda Carmicheal finished in third at 145 and Richmond Sharbrough and Joan Bailey finished at 147.
Robert and Donna Monsour won the Sixth Flight with a 145. Billy and Linda Dyess finished second at 147 while Max and Rita Dyar took third with a 148. Mike and Connie Weaver rounded out the top four with a 149.
In the Seventh Flight, Arthur and Gwen White shot a 151 to finish first. William and Gina Berdami finished second after also shooting a 151.
Gene and Carol Tomkins shot a 155 to win the Eighth Flight. Mike and Lisa Johnson finished second with a 155.
