Central Vikings roll to 34-0 victory

MACON Homestanding Central Academy exploded for 20 fourth-quarter points to lead the Vikings to a 34-0 win over Union Academy on Friday night.
Craig Giesbrecht rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries to pace Central to the season-opening win.
The Vikings led 6-0 at the half, thanks to a 14-yard run by Giesbrecht with 9:30 to play in the second quarter. With 10:27 to play in the third quarter Ross Brown hit Tony Sudduth with a 12-yard scoring pass. Giesbrecht ran in the two-point conversion to put the winners up 14-0.
In the fourth quarter the Vikings scored on a 20-yard pass from Brown to Sudduth, runs of 22 and 17 by Giesbrecht and two extra point kicks by Matt Persons.
Seth More and Jesse More had nine tackle each to lead the Vikings, who travel to Lake Providence, La., next week to take on Briarfield Academy.
