Heidelberg Rebels roll to victory

HEIDELBERG The Heidelberg Academy Rebels jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they upped their record to 3-1 with a 47-0 win over Newton Academy.
Rebels' quarterback, Brooks Lewis connected with Blake Bass on a 40-yard touchdown pass play to start things off. Mason Key scored the extra point and the Rebels led 7-0 early in the first quarter.
Later in the period, Brent Welch scored on a 13-yard rush. The extra point try failed and the Rebels led 13-0. Still in the first quarter with 26 seconds on the clock, Matthew Andrews scored on 60-yard run, and then Jeremy Eason scored the two-point conversion, bringing the score to 21-0 in favor of the Rebels.
In the second quarter, Lewis connected with Kyle Johnston on a 17-yard touchdown pass play. Key kicked the extra point and the score was then 28-0 with 9:05 left in the half.
Later in the quarter, Eason dashed 39 yard for another touchdown for the Rebels. Key kicked the extra point, bringing the score to 35-0.
Coming back from half time, the Rebels were still ready to play. Lewis connected with Joe McLeod on a 10 yard pass play. The extra point try failed and the Rebels led 41-0.
And in the fourth quarter, the Rebels continued their shut out game, but scored one more touchdown. Chris Kittrell hit paydirt on a 15-yard rush. The
extra point try failed.
The Rebels return to action next Friday night when they visit Winston Academy in Louisville.
