Pause, pray, persevere

Take a moment today to pause and pray for the families of the dead and for our country. Thank your God for courageous firefighters and police officers and emergency medical technicians who consistently go in harm's way to protect the rest of us. Pray for our President and other national, state and local leaders as they face decisions with awesome consequences.
There are plenty of opportunities around town to take part in a commemoration program, or you may just want to spend a few moments in quiet reflection of these dangerous times in which we live.
Say a little prayer for yourself, too, that through the grace of God your life will not be ruled by the fear of terrorism. We must carry on with our daily lives even as the war against terrorism continues.
