Theresa Katherine "Tracie" Houston of Vicksburg and Charles "Charley" Webb Scales of Hattiesburg, formerly of Meridian, were married at the Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal in Vicksburg on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002.
The 6 p.m. ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Michael Christopher Nation.
Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. James Robert Houston of Vicksburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert David Scales of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. William Arvil Smith and the late Mr. Smith of Wheeler, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Love Houston of Richmond, Calif.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Dr. and Mrs. James Webb Scales of Starkville.
Nuptial music was provided by Dorothy Brasfield, organist; Dr. Allen Lessem, oboist; and Kenneth Griswald, soloist.
Scripture readings were provided by Georgianna Martin, the Rev. Donald Fortenberry and the Rev. Nation.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal two-piece diamond white satin and silk organza corset designer gown.
The bodice featured spaghetti straps and a dropped waistline overlaid with embroidered silk organza and embellished with Swarovski crystals and bugle beads. The back of the bodice was laced with a ribbon of bridal satin tied in a bow. She wore a veil of silk illusion with satin edging and wore a tiara headpiece of crystals and beading. The full skirt featured a chapel-length train.
She wore a diamond pendant, a gift from the bridegroom.
Elizabeth Bishara of Washington, D.C., formerly of New Orleans, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Babin of Tyler, Texas, Margaret Anzelmo of Monroe, La., Suzanne Scales, of Meridian, sister of the bridegroom, Ellen Trappey of Kentwood, La., Erin Buchwald of Vicksburg and Tara Floyd of Houston, Texas, cousin of the bride.
Jim McClain of Ocean Springs served as best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Woods of Meridian, Clay Nelson of Memphis, Tenn., Loren James of Columbus, Jonathan Kilgore of Jackson, Anthony Convertine of Cape Coral, Fla., and Ryan Ezelle of Brookhaven. Ring bearer was Trevor Godwin of Rienzi, cousin of the bride.
The reception was held at the B'nai B'rith Ballroom. Assisting at the reception were Dr. and Mrs. Michael O'Connor and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Basham. Timothy Ables served as master of ceremonies.
Guest book attendants were Kell Hamby and Brittany Levy. Rose petal girl was Jenna Page of Rienzi, cousin of the bride.
After a honeymoon trip to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Hattiesburg.
