POPLARVILLE Services for Joseph Charles Smith will be held today at 2 p.m. at Juniper Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Stockman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 84, of Poplarville, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in his home. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Charles "Buster" Smith of Poplarville, Ted Smith of Carriere, Lt. Col. Chris Smith of Tullahoama, Tenn., and Jonathan Smith of Houston, Texas; daughters, Karen McGagin of Mobile, Ala., Sharon Busler of Meridian and Mary Jane Cox of Madison; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel H. Smith; three sisters, Vergie Smith, Velma Ray Berry and Opal Blossman; and two brothers, Curtis Smith and Ulyess Smith.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the church.

MACON Services for Henry J. Yoder will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Mennonite Church in Macon with the Revs. Paul Shirk and Edwin Knepp officiating. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Yoder, 83, of Macon, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Noxubee County Nursing Home in Macon. He was a retired farmer and electrician.
Survivors include his four sons, Alvin Yoder of West Liberty, Ohio, Glen Yoder of Mountville, Pa., David Yoder of Hartselle, Ala., and James Yoder of Brooksville; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Thomas Yoder; and a son, Verlin R. Yoder.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the church.

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Joanna Michele Greene will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Morgan Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Greene, 26, of Livingston, Ala., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was an assistant registrar at University of West Alabama.
Survivors include her mother, Rebecca N. Sykes and her step-father Willie Franklin Sykes, both of the Morgan Chapel Community in Alabama; her father, Michael Greene of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Andrea Melisa Greene of Butler; a brother, Michael D. Greene Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.; her grandfather, Howard Nordan and a nephew, Drew Faile, both of Butler.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Joseph Ray Brantley will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brantley, 84, of Middleburg, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in his home.
TAWANNA EVON PATTON
Services for Tawanna Evon Patton will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Clark's Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shirley Grace officiating. Burial will be in Lauderdale Community Cemetery.
Ms. Patton, 38, of Meridian, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her father, Otha Barron and her mother, Willie B. Burns, four children, Matthew Patton, Melodie Patton, Prentella Patton and Sieria Patton, all of Meridian; five sisters, Betty Hayes, Rose Marie Patton, Patricia Brown, Olivia Williams and her husband, Eddie, and Annette Knight and her husband, Bobby, all of Meridian; a brother, Kenneth Patton of Meridian; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Patton.
Visitation will be Friday 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

OXFORD Private graveside services for Zada McCarver Crenshaw will be held at a later date in Laurel with the Rev. H.C. Crenshaw officiating. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Crenshaw, 74, of Oxford, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Grady W. Crenshaw of Oxford; daughters, Lisa Crenshaw of Wichita, Kan., Celia Pope and Holly Crenshaw, both of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
