Mr. and Mrs. Randy Jack of Meridian and Melvin Rasco of Houston, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shemeeka Shenea Patrick, to Jason Brian Franklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Franklin of DeKalb.
The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at 4:30 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Convention Center.
Miss Patrick is the granddaughter of Jimmy and Ruby Rasco, and Christine Christian, all of Forest.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and attended Meridian Community College.
While attending MCC, she was a member of Phi Beta Lambda.
Miss Patrick is employed by Pearl River Resorts.
Mr. Franklin is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster Greer of DeKalb, Fannie Benson of Meridian and the late T.M. Benson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received an associate's degree from East Mississippi Community College. He attended Delta State University.
While attending Delta State, he was a member of the Statemen's national championship football team and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Mr. Franklin is employed by Exxon Mobile.
A reception will be held at Howard Johnson following the ceremony.
