Chef William McGehee will be one of three special guests at an upcoming holiday spectacular at Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus.
In its third year, "Celebrate the Holidays" is a joint effort of Meridian Community College's Continuing Education Division and MSU-Meridian.
The event is Thursday and begins at 9 a.m. with a "sip and see," where guests will munch on Mississippi State cheese and sip coffee and tea. Also during this time, visitors will have a chance to view holiday exhibits set up by designers from Hulett Furniture Co.
At 9:30 a.m. silver specialist Doris Truax will begin her presentation on "The History of Silver Patterns." Truax owns Truax &Co. in Selma, Ala.
Truax will be followed by floral designer Ralph Null of Columbus, who will demonstrate the latest in holiday floral arrangements. Null has studied and taught floral design throughout the world. His designs have also been featured at Christmas at the White House several times.
At 11:15 a.m. McGehee of Weidmann's will begin his cooking presentation followed by lunch.
All presentations will be displayed on huge video screens during the event.
Tickets for the Thursday event are $40 and includes lunch. Limited tickets are still available. For information, call Norment at 484-8856.
