Wende Ann Fitzgerald of Meridian and John Joseph Falgout Jr. of Lauderdale were married Saturday, April 27, 2002, at First Baptist Church of Lauderdale with the Rev. Ed Falgout officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Fitzgerald, and Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Falgout Sr.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Rev. and Mrs. Houston Fitzgerald, the late Vernon Harris and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tinsley.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bracken, the late Bill Wall and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Benard Falgout Sr.
Nuptial music was provided by Tom Harrison, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of ivory matte satin overlaid with beaded French tulle. It featured a fitted bodice and spaghetti straps and cascaded into a princess skirt with a sweep train.
Julie Fitzgerald of Lauderdale attended her sister as maid of honor. Other attendants were Melanie Mitchell of Meridian and junior bridesmaid Heather Fitzgerald of Collinsville.
Madison McElroy of Meridian served as flower girl.
Tony Mitchell of Lauderdale served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Rusty Falgout, Ronnie McLelland, Chris Falgout and Danny Beard, all of Lauderdale.
Mason Falgout of Lauderdale was ring bearer.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Debbie Furlon, Kelli Fitzgerald, Carrie Fitzgerald, Nicki Falgout, Melanie Mitchell and Julie Fitzgerald.
After a honeymoon in Gulf Shores, Ala., the couple resides in Russell.
