Stephen and Katie James of Anna, Ill., and Edward Bower of Birmingham, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mandie Bower, to Dale Harbour, son of Frederick D. and Peggy Harbour of DeKalb.
The evening wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Gabrella Manor in historic Roebuck Springs in Birmingham.
Miss Bower is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Harry of Meridian, Mr. and Mrs. John Bower of Akron, Ohio, and Mr. and Mrs. Austin James of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School and received a degree in social work from Mississippi State University-Meridian campus. Miss Bower is pursuing her master's degree in social work.
Mr. Harbour is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie C. Clark of Philadelphia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Harbour of DeKalb.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Kemper Academy and attended the University of West Alabama. He is employed in Birmingham.
A reception will be held at Gabrella Manor following the ceremony.
