Amy Kell Davis of Brandon and Wayne Milton Rutherford Jr. of Oxford and formerly of Meridian were married Saturday, May 18, 2002, at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson with the Rev. William Lester Newsom officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gatewood Davis Jr. of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Milton Rutherford Sr. of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Harper Sr. of Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gatewood Davis Sr. of Columbus.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Stahnke of Meridian and Mrs. Clelon Wayne Rutherford of Tupelo and the late Mr. Rutherford.
Music for the ceremony was provided by William Kenneth Wymond, organist; Nancy Pelz Bateman, cellist; and Joel Treybig, trumpeter.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore a white princess satin two-piece ensemble with beaded accents along the neckline and waist. The skirt featured beaded tails and a semi-cathedral train.
Lindsey Renee Sistrunk of Brandon served as maid of honor.
Other attendants were Rachel Kelly Avery of Memphis, Tenn.; Erin Allen Findley Rachel Ewing Harper and Mary Mills Lane, all of Jackson; Molly Ann Rutherford, sister of the bridegroom, of Meridian; and Kelly Elizabeth Shannon of Somerville, Mass.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man.
Groomsmen were Christopher Peyton Atchley, Donald Glenn Breazeale Jr. and Earl Gatewood Davis III, brother of the bride, all of Oxford; Ronald Victor Johnson Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; Tedford Clinton McCullough IV, of Baton Rouge, La.; and Parker Waring Reece of Hickory, N.C.
Program attendants was Mary Grace Toler.
A reception was held at the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Mrs. John Batte III, Mrs. Mark Sorgenfrei, Mrs. Alan Walters, Katy Walters, Betsy Wiley and Julie Wiley.
After a honeymoon is Bermuda, the couple resides in Oxford.
