Atlanta businessman Meurice LeFevre said if the weather holds up, construction could be complete in April on his $2.5 million state-of-the-art new Harley Davidson store on South Frontage Road.
LeFevre, 64, who made his living in Atlanta running a chain Jiffy Lube express oil change shops, has been running Chunky River Harley Davidson shop on B Street for the past two years.
The new 23,000-square-foot store will be near Bonita Lakes Mall on South Frontage Road, next to the new Dollar Tree.
LeFevre said all of the steel for the building has been finished and will be delivered next week.
LeFevre said the new store will include 10,000 square feet of showroom space, an upstairs entertainment room with a pool table for Harley Owners Group members and modern office and shop space.
Atlanta-based Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback &Associates Inc. designed the building. The same architectural company designed the Georgia Dome, the World Congress Center and Mall of Georgia.
Harrell Construction Group of Jackson is constructing the building. LeFevre said once the foundation is complete, construction should take about six months to complete.
