The scenic tree-covered mountain bike trail at Bonita Lakes will be the site for the 2nd Annual Run for Hope on Nov. 16.
Organizers hope the run will raise more money than last year's event.
Last year, 138 people participated in the inaugural event that raised $8,500 for Hope Village for Children, a nonprofit organization that provides extended care, residential and therapeutic treatment for abused and neglected children.
Monsour said the race began because she wanted to bring together her passion for exercise and helping people.
The annual run will include a 10k trail run, a two-mile walk and a one-mile fun run all beginning at 9 a.m.
Refreshments will be available at the finish line, compliments of local vendors. The post-race ceremony will include raffle drawings from local retailers and restaurants. Awards also will be given for the top finishers in 12 age groups.
The race is organized by the Meridian Athletic Association.
