Mr. and Mrs. Danny Cherry of Scooba announce the engagement of their daughter April Michelle, to John Taylor McIlwain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sammy McIlwain of Gilbertown, Ala.
The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Scooba United Methodist Church.
Miss Cherry is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Meacham of Scooba, Mary Cherry of Townsend and the late James Cherry.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Kemper Academy and East Mississippi Community College. She received a bachelor's of nursing degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Miss Cherry is employed in the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Mr. McIlwain is the grandson of Lomac Taylor of Gilbertown and the late John Taylor and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam A. McIlwain of Silas, Ala.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Southern Choctaw High School and received a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from the University of West Alabama.
Mr. Taylor is employed by Mayrant and Associates, LLC.
A reception will held at Timberview Lodge in Porterville following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
