Students' artwork highlights fall show

PREPARING THE SHOW Sophomore Kenneth White of Newton applies the final touches of his charcoal drawing in preparation for the annual East Central Community College Fall Art Show scheduled Thursday from 6:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the Decatur campus. Artwork from 16 students of instructor Bruce Guraedy will be on display in the lobby of the Vickers Fine Arts Center. Works of art by students will be on display Thursday as East Central Community College opens its annual Fall Art Show in Decatur.
The exhibit opens with a reception at 6:30 p.m. at the Vickers Fine Arts Center. There is no admission charge and refreshments will be served.
Students whose artwork will be featured include: Dorothy Abel, Lee Faucette, Rufus Wilder and Amy Rawson, all of Carthage; Victoria Daniels, Christopher Stack and William Cherry, all of Philadelphia; Emily Goodin of Union; Rebecca Jones of Meridian; Kenny White of Newton; Jay Harris and Xavier Keyes, both of Raleigh; Jon King of Decatur; Lisa Lewis of Forest; and Lindsay Rigdon and Amanda Thompson, both of Louisville.
Students enrolled in ceramics class will also display their talents in the exhibit: Celeste Akins and Thomas Walton, both of Decatur; Donnie Atkinson, Susan Atkinson, William Cherry, Beth Yarbrough and Victoria Daniels, all of Philadelphia; Edgar Bradford and Amy Haralson, both of Forest; Angie Farve and Karen Smith, both of Conehatta; Emily Goodin, Joye James, Aaron McElfish and Jessica Crenshaw, all of Union; Joshua Hall of Morton; Jerry Melton of Lake; Raye Girard of Newton; and Kay Harvey of Linwood.
