Eliana Martinez and Michael Todd Smith were married Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at Midway Baptist Church in Meridian. The Rev. Keith Grubbs officiated over the 7 p.m. ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Hector and Omiara Martinez of Socorro, Colombia, Jackie and Becky Fulton of Collinsville, and the late James M. Smith.
Grandparents of the couple are Ridgell Nicholson of Union and the late Herschel Nicholson, Arvilla Smith of Union and the late Olen Smith, Edith Fulton of Decatur and the late Jack Fulton.
Nuptial music was provided by Jana Grubbs, Diane White and Jaycee Butler.
Nicole Wilson, sister of the bridegroom, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Smith, half-sister of the bridegroom.
Allen Chisolm, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man. Clay Wilson, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was groomsman.
Easton Wilson, nephew of the bridegroom, served as ring bearer and Jordan Hull served as flower girl.
On the eve of the wedding, the couple was honored with a rehearsal dinner at the home of Mark and Carol Webb.
A reception, hosted by the parents of the bridegroom, was held in the church's family life center following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Highlands, N.C., the couple resides in Fayetteville, N.C., where the bridegroom serves with the 7th Special Forces Group in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg.
