A DeKalb man was killed in a two-car accident Monday on Highway 39 when his car was apparently struck by a westbound car on Briarwood Road, according to officials.
Lauderdale County Coroner Marl Cobler identified the man as Richard Bohannon, 26, of DeKalb, who was pronounced dead at 3:26 p.m.
Cobler said Bohannon was driving south on Highway 39 when his car was struck on the driver's side; the impact forced the car across the highway.
Cobler said Bohannon's body was found on the passeger's side of the car, and added that the victim apparently had his seatbelt on.
