UNION Services for Mary Ina Cooksey will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Milling Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Price officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Church Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cooksey, 99, of Newton, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Bedford Care.
Survivors include a sister, Ola Mae Meador of Decatur, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tom Edwards, Jim Miller, Ronnie Addy, Jimmy Milling, Steve Milling and Jim Addy.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Lucille Peebles
Retired
Services for Lucille Peebles will be held today at 11 a.m. at Anderson Temple with the Elder George Murray officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park with Clark's Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Peebles, 81, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Riley Nursing Center.
Survivors include a son, Golden Peebles Jr. of Meridian; two sisters, Willa Yarrell of Meridian, and Howard Lee Johnson of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Rena Adams, and her husband, Golden Peebles.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the temple.
Julian Stennis

YORK, Ala. Services for Julian Stennis will be held today at 12:30 p.m. at Boligee Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Raymond Colgrove Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba, Ala.
Mr. Stennis, 79, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Specialty Hospital in Meridian. He was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hitt Stennis of Meridian; a daughter, Donna Lampton of McComb; a son, Roderick Stennis of Meridian; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mary P. Melton

Services for Mary P. Melton will be held today at 1 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mrs. Melton, 73, of Chunky, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Chunky Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Glenda Stewart and her husband, Carson, of Chunky, Faith McGee and her husband, Lowery, of Hickory, Robin Ables and her husband, Samuel, of Chunky; grandchildren, Tiffany Spence, Ray Stewart, Dana Covington, Christy Bracken, Tabitha McGee, Dustin McGee and Alyssa Price; great-grandchildren Will Spence, Josh Spence, Josi Bracken, Keenan Covington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Melton, and a son, Larry Franklin Melton.
Pallbearers will be Dustin McGee, Jack Crenshaw, Bill Logan, Bill Spence, Brit Covington and Don Bracken.

Services for Elizabeth R. Morgan will be held today at 3 p.m. with Dr. Otis Seal officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Morgan, 91, of Meridian, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
Survivors include four daughters, Merle Irby and her husband, Tommy, of Meridian, Ouida Watkins, and her husband, Beaver, of Lauderdale, Jessie Feazell and her husband, James, of Grand Bay, Ala., Jean Riley and her husband, Richard, of Germantown, Tenn.; a sister, Dot Reynolds Hynde of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 10 grandchildren Tem Feazell Sheilds of Mobile, Ala., Kip Watkins of Jackson, Dawn Watkins McCormack of Meridian, Leigh Watkins Burns of Meridian, Jeanie Riley Smith of Germantown, Jeana Feazell Crevasse of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Michael Van Easterwood of Meridian, Charlsa Rey Donohue of Hattiesburg and Lamar Todd Easterwood of Meridian; and 17 great-grandchildren.
