Mr. and Mrs. George L. Haynie Jr. of Brandon, formerly of Newton, and Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler Santmyer III of Leland announce the engagement of their daughter, Jeana Parks Santmyer, to Mark Edward Power Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark E. Power Sr. of Jackson.
The wedding will be Saturday, April 5, 2003, at 6 p.m. at Newton United Methodist Church.
Miss Santmyer is the granddaughter of Jean Jackson of Newton, and Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Santmyer Jr. of Yazoo City.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Newton High School and received a degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University.
While attending MSU, she was a varsity cheerleader, a member of Phi-Mu Sorority and a dean's list scholar.
Miss Santmyer is a second grade teacher at Rouse Elementary School in Brandon.
Mr. Power is the grandson of Helen Power and the late Loyal H. Power, and Mr. and Mrs. Emmett H. Owens Sr., all of Jackson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Forest Hill High School. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's of business administration from Mississippi State University. Mr. Power received his doctorate of jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law.
Mr. Power is associated with Rozier Law Firm, P.C. in Jackson.
A reception will be at the Historic Newton Depot following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
