Meridian High soccer standout Leslie Rush will have even more motivation to get back on the soccer field next season as he signed with Tyler Junior College on Wednesday afternoon.
Rush was sidelined in the middle of the season with a broken leg he suffered in a game this past year, but is looking forward to playing with the nationally-competitive Apaches next year.
Rush is anxious to get back on the field after the injury that left him out of much of last season.
Rush has been working to get back into playing shape and will be working to get the leg ready for next year's season.
Rush will be going to play for the powerful Tyler program led by former Meridian Community College coach Steve Clements.
Clements was able to lead the Eagles to a national championship during his time at MCC and has enjoyed success at Tyler as well.
Rush was named All-District for the Wildcats in his sophomore and junior seasons. He was also the team captain his junior and senior years.
Rush has played at midfield and forward for the Wildcats and also played some sweeper for MHS this past season. He was named Best Defensive Player for Meridian High for his play during this past season.
