A Democratic candidate for Lauderdale County sheriff has been released from the Lauderdale County jail after being arrested Sunday for driving with a suspended driver's license.
Joseph W. Nabors, 37, was taken into custody about 10 a.m. by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. He was booked into the Lauderdale County jail, where he stayed for about two hours before posting a $245 bond through Pugh Bonding.
Nabors could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
Nabors and fellow Democrat Larry Covert meet in the Aug. 5 party primary. The winner will take on Republican incumbent Sheriff Billy Sollie in the Nov. 4 general election.
