Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reminds everyone to have a fun, but safe, holiday weekend.
Calhoun said the best way to be safe when driving is to buckle up and to make sure passengers and children are properly restrained.
Due to the large number of drivers on the roads today and Monday, Calhoun said, there will be increased law enforcement as well as checkpoints throughout the county.
