Ron and Malinda Forest of Newton announce the engagement of their daughter, Deanna Lee Forest, to Charles Ray Odom, son of W. Ray and Cathy Odom of Meridian.
The wedding will be Saturday, June 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Starkville.
Miss Forest is the granddaughter of Caroline Fyke and the late Robert Fyke of Starkville and the late Leonard and Margaret Forest of Newton.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Beavercreek High School in Ohio and received her bachelor's in social work from Mississippi State University and a master's in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi.
While attending college, she was a member of the student Association of Student Social Workers at MSU and held an office in the Association of Social Workers at USM. She was also active in the Reform University Fellowship at MSU.
Miss Forest is employed by Weems Community Mental Health Center.
Mr. Odom is the grandson of the late Robert and Helen Chapman of Atlanta and the late Willie and Odis Odom of Canton.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received his bachelor's of business degree from Mississippi State University.
While attending MSU, he was active in the Baptist Student Union and a photographer for The Reveille.
Mr. Odom is employed by United Parcel Services.
A reception will be held at the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
