HEIDELBERG The summer program Motivating Parents and Children will be offered at Greater Beaver Meadow Missionary Baptist Church through July 11. The program advocates anti-tobacco awareness.
Mission Meridian hosts a monthly women's prayer lunch from 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. on the third Tuesday at Oakland Heights United Methodist Church, across from Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus.
The multi-denominational meeting is a time of fellowship, worship and devotion. Cost of the lunch is $5. Advance reservations may be made by calling 693-1332 or e-mailing grace@missionmeridian.com. Mission Meridian's Web site is www.missionmeridian.com
Power Hour, which brings the Christian community together for inspiration and encouragement, meets the first Thursday of each month at First Baptist Church. The hour includes lunch, fellowship, prayer, inspirational music and testimony. It is open to all races, denominations and genders. No reservations are necessary.
The cost of a deluxe meal is $6.50. Lunch is served 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The program begins at 12:15 p.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m. For information, call Jimmy Slay at 482-9779.
Fellowship Baptist Church is collecting labels from Campbell products to buy equipment for the church. Labels from the following Campbell products are requested: soups, beans, Swanson broths, Pepperidge Farm products, Prego pasta sauces, V-8 Juice and Franco-American Spaghettios.

PUSHMATAHA, Ala. Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church's annual Youth Praise &Worship Banquet will be held at 5 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Shaffer Ridgeway of Muscatine, Iowa, a member of Risen Christ Ministries of Rock Island, Ill. "Youth in Action for God" is the theme.
CUBA, Ala. Cuba Church of God (Holiness) will sponsor a concert featuring the group Redemption at 7 p.m. Held in conjunction with the church's homecoming celebration, the concert will be at the Cuba Campground.
The 27th Annual Gospel Singing Convention will begin at 7 p.m. at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Fifth Street and 47th Avenue, with the Rev. O. Cemmons of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lauderdale.
Meridian businessman James E. Bishop of Enterprise Funeral Home will be honored for his lifetime achievements.
On Sunday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. David L. Mosley, pastor of Grace Missionary Baptist Church, will bring the convention's message.
SHUBUTA A building fund program is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Center Ridge Baptist Church. The Harmonizers of Shubuta and the Oak Grove Baptist Church Male Chorus of Ellisville will perform. Special guest will be The Golden Wings of Tupelo. The church is at 760 County Road 267.
SUNDAY
CUBA, Ala. The homecoming celebration for Cuba Church of God (Holiness) will begin with worship service at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. James L. Kimbrough as speaker. Dinner will held at noon at the church campground.
CLARKE COUNTY Snell Church of God's annual homecoming service will begin at 10:30 a.m. An afternoon concert featuring Redemption of Frankfort, Ind., will begin at 1 p.m.
LAUDERDALE A program on the first 10 books of the Bible will be presented at 3 p.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Ten speakers will be featured. The church is on York Road.
COLLINSVILLE The Rev. Dr. David Watson will be guest evangelist for revival services at Prospect Congregational Methodist Church, which are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Services will continue through Wednesday and will begin at 7 each evening.
For bus service in the community, call 986-2473. The church is 18 miles north of Meridian on Highway 19.
Homecoming services will begin at 11 a.m. at Blue Springs Baptist Church on Chunky-Duffee Road. After the morning service, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall. Afternoon worship will begin at 1:15 p.m.
HEIDELBERG The Angelic Choir of the Greater Beaver Meadow Missionary Baptist Church will present a Gospel Music Explosion at 2:30 p.m. Area youth choirs, soloist, drill teams and liturgical dance teams are encouraged to participate.
The youth department of New Era Church will host its annual Youth Day Program at 3 p.m. The Rev. Paul Garrett of New Prospect Baptist Church will be guest speaker and The Young People of Praise will be the guest choir.
PORTERVILLE Revival will begin and continue through Tuesday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church on Highway 498 East. Dewayne Warren will be guest speaker; services will begin at 7 each evening. A potluck supper will be served at 6 p.m.
MONDAY
Vacation Bible School begins and continues through Friday at St. Luke Baptist Church. The sessions are from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. "Treasure in the Nile" is the theme.
Revival begins at Blue Springs Baptist Church and will continue through Friday. The Rev. Dr. Leon Everett is evangelist; services will begin at 7 each evening.
