QUITMAN Services for the Rev. William Laverne "Pete" Shirley will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ed Holloman and Buddy Braddock officiating. Burial will be in Bucatunna Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Shirley, 76, of Stonewall, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in his home. He was a retired logging worker.
Survivors include his son, William Lavon Shirley and his wife, Nora, of White Sulpher Springs, W.V.; a daughter, Sarah Margaret Smith of Stonewall; a brother, Freddie Eugene Shirley and his wife, Peggy, of Vicksburg; a sister, Ouida Mae Hagewood and her husband, Bill, of Meridian; step-sisters, Bonnie Boykin and Nola Mae Wyche, both of Meridian; two grandchildren, Greg Crocker and Kimberly Nicole Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Neal Shirley; a son-in-law, Cletis Pete Smith; and two grandsons, Will and Eric Crocker.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Ray Long, Tim Neal, Billy Haguewood, Steve Neal, Donald Wayne Haguewood and Mike Hathorn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Gerald Jenkins, Donnie Tucker, William Griffin, Dr. Ron McGaugh, Todd Kemp, the Rev. Grady Crowell, the Rev. Parker Chancellor, the Rev. Dennis Coats, the Rev. Buddy Petty, the Rev. Pike Smith and Paul Mosley.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for James C. "Jimmy" Eubanks will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Eubanks, 57, of Meridian, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in Aliceville, Ala. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves for 27 years, where he retired as a colonel. He was a member of the Lion's Club.
Mr. Eubanks was a graduate of William Carey College and a board member of Dalewood Property Owner's Association. He worked for Mississippi Power Company for more than 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Murphy Eubanks of Meridian; a son, Michael Eubanks and his wife, Cindy, of Meridian; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Shawn Eubanks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Eubanks and Nora M. Eubanks; and a sister, Jeanette Eubanks Price Marsh.
Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be John S. "Scoot" House, Mike Bateman, Dennis Reed, Marty Harper, Wayne Rawson, Tommy Vincent, Gene Marshall, Richard Chisolm and Wynn Buchannan.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Jessie Hearn McDonald will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Livingston Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Doug Stokes officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McDonald, 91, of Livingston, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Springfield of Livingston and Dorothy Moody of Ward, Ala.; a son, Roy McDonald Jr. of Livingston; a sister, Linnie Sharp of Bossier City, La.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Roy McDonald Sr.; and a grandson, Steve Moody.

Mrs. Cooley, 80, of Pachuta, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Jasper General Hospital in Bay Springs.
Survivors include her husband, O.F. Cooley Jr. of Rose Hill; daughters, Patsy Chapman and her husband, George, of Thomasville, Ala., Cheryl Reynolds and her husband, Alex, of Rose Hill; sons, Don Cooley and his wife, Gloria, of Rose Hill and O.F. Cooley III and his wife, Sandy, of Hattiesburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Evans and Minnie Lee Hicks, both of Rose Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Thelma Herrington; and a sister, Lorene Lewis.
