The Meridian Community College golf team added Wayne County standout golfer Caleb Davis to their roster Tuesday.
It's safe to say Davis has golf in his blood.
His dad, Keith, played college golf at Mississippi State, and his uncle, Scott Davis, played golf at Alabama.
MCC golf coach Lou Hart said offering Davis a golf scholarship was an easy decision.
Davis said committing to MCC was also an easy decision.
The MCC golf team is losing four sophomores to graduation, and Hart said she expects some of her freshmen to step up this year.
The chance to take a traveling spot also influenced Davis' decision.
He said he wants to improve on MCC's seventh place finish at Nationals during his playing career at MCC.
Davis was a medalist three times for Wayne County in 2002, and he was a medalist twice in 2001.
He finished second at the 5A district championship, leading Wayne County to a fourth place finish. Davis also finished 10th at the State 5A championship.
In 2002, Davis played golf on the Jimmy Green Junior Tour in Alabama. He won at Dauphin Island shooting 76 and finished second at the Quail Creek Tournament firing another 76.
