The team of David and Corey Roberts took first place in the Take A Kid Bass tourney held recently at Okatibbee Reservoir. Their winning creel weight of 7.61 pounds of bass was good enough to win the jackpot prize of $1,000.00. They had a limit of seven bass.
Second place and $650.00 went to the team of Wayman Newell and Austin Weekley with a five bass string weighing 7.42 pounds, the pair finishing just percentage points out of first. Third place went to the team of Tommy and Corey Rigdon with a seven fish limit weighing 6.90 pounds, good for $500.00. Fourth place and $400.00 went to the team of Clyde and Trey Coker with seven fish weighing 6.76 pounds.
Rounding out the top five was Mike Wall and Parker Temple with a seven fish limit weighing 6.60 pounds. Fifth place was good enough for $325.00.

This second annual tournament was a success once again due to the work of the Meridian Firefighters Local #52 members and local sponsors. There was food for all participants including hot dogs and hamburgers as well as drinks. All participants won trophies and "Take- A – Kid" shirts regardless of their finish.
