Musgrove awards domestic violence grant to Meridian

Gov. Ronnie Musgrove has awarded the city of Meridian a $94,000 "Emergency Shelter" grant to help women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
The money is awarded through the Community Services Division of the Mississippi Development Authority.
Emergency shelter grants can be used for:
Renovation, major rehabilitation or conversion of buildings for use as emergency shelters for the homeless;
Essential services, including those related to employment, health, substance abuse, education or food; and
Payment for shelter maintenance, operation, insurance, utilities and furnishings.
