Summer league heats up

Summer league action continues hot and heavy and no one is hotter right now than Dan Kalvaitis.
While competing in the Trio League on Thursday night, Dan punched out 12 strikes in a row to record his first career 300 game while on his way to a nice 720 series. Congratulations to Dan on his feat and best wishes for many more in the future.
In other action, Tyrone McAlpine cranked out a nice 277 game, and Pam Cooper led the ladies with a 235 game. Tandee Marx took the high series for the gals with a 612.
Stan's Classic Tournaments 8-Game Sweeper makes a stop at Dixie Bowl Lanes this Sunday. The sweeper features both Handicap and Scratch Divisions with a $70 entry fee per division. Payoff is immediately following the sweeper. Check in begins at 9 a.m.,warm-up begins at 9:50 and competition starts at 10.
Also on tap is the 2nd Annual Handicap Doubles Tournament beginning Friday, Aug. 1 and running each weekend through Labor Day. This year's tournament features a guaranteed first place payoff of $4000 regardless of the number of entries. You may participate as often as you like and may bowl with up to three partners each time you bowl. Entry forms and complete shift times are available at Dixie Bowl Lanes.
Ladies, don't forget the Annual Workshop is being held at Battlefield Inn in Vicksburg Saturday, Aug. 9. The workshop will be followed by a singles no-tap tournament at Red Carpet Lanes. You must attend the workshop to be eligible for the tournament. Entry forms are available at Dixie Bowl Lanes.
