Maj. Ward Calhoun, a spokesman for the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, said Thursday that deputies are still re-interviewing employees of Lockheed Martin in an attempt to establish a clear motive for Tuesday's killing spree.
Sheriff Billy Sollie said 138 employees were at the plant on the morning that Doug Williams, a 19-year employee, shot 14 of his co-workers, killing five. Two of the victims, production assemblers DeLois Bailey, 53, and Charles Scott, 54, remained in critical condition Thursday at local hospitals.
Calhoun said the FBI is analyzing a computer seized as evidence from Williams' mobile home in the rural Lauderdale County community of Russell.
Officers are checking e-mails and Internet traffic that may help in establishing a motive for the rampage.
Sollie said Wednesday that the investigation could take weeks and, if evidence of a hate crime is discovered, the case could be turned over to federal authorities.
