DeLois Bailey was remembered today by her friends as a happy, friendly and lovable person.
Laura Jordan, who has known Bailey for more than 20 years, met Bailey at St. Joseph's Catholic Church where the two of them worked with the youth choir.
Bailey died at 3:57 p.m. Tuesday after spending a week in intensive care at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She was the sixth person killed after Lockheed Martin employee Doug Williams went on a shooting rampage July 8 at the Lauderdale County plant. Williams also injured eight others before taking his own life.
Killed were Mickey Fitzgerald, Sam Cockrell, Lynette McCall, Thomas Willis and Charlie Miller all workers at Lockheed Martin. They were buried after funeral services last week and Monday.
Bailey had been shot in the pelvis in a training room where Lockheed employees were attending a mandatory business ethics class. Fitzgerald and Cockrell also were killed in the training room.
The other three victims were shot and killed on the plant floor.
Sam Grizzle, a spokesman for Lockheed Martin, said the company was saddened by the news of Bailey's death.
Ann Weddington, a spokesperson for Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, said the Bailey family could not be reached for comment.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of early today.
The Rev. Elvin Sunds, pastor of St. Joseph's and St. Patrick Catholic churches, said that Bailey was a long-time member of his church.
