Leslie Carole Sims and Charles William Carruth, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, May 17, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating.
Parents of the couple are Lisa Carole Forbert of Brandon, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Sims of Picayune, Dr. and Mrs. David Allen Geer of Meridian and Dr. Ed Carruth of Stonewall.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Arlin C. Terry Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. Terry, Col. and Mrs. Sam Forbert of Meridian, and Dr. and Mrs. John Atwood of Foley, Ala.
Music of the ceremony was provided by Barry Germany, pianist; Miriam Chesney, organist; and Courtney Yancey, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Arlin C. Terry Sr., who has recently passed away.
She wore a gown with layers of Duchess silk edged in silk bias ribbon featuring hand embroidery with Swovorskin crystals adorning the gown from the strapless bodice flowing into a cathedral-length train. Her sheer cape veil was embellished with crystals and embroidery cascading from the shoulders flowing to the tip of veil meeting the cathedral length-train. She carried a bouquet of candle light tulips that were hand-tied with satin ribbon.
Mrs. Albree Garnet Sanders of Meridian served as matron of honor and Shelley Elizabeth Wilkerson of Meridian served as maid of honor.
Other attendants were Bailey Elizabeth Sims of Picayune, Regan Jill Aycock, Mary Ann Kahlmus and Katie Elizabeth Pigford, all of Meridian, Katie Marie Spence of Natchez, Anna Grace Thompson of Bonneville, Genevieve Ruth Payne of Jackson and Anna Elizabeth Hillman of Columbus.
Katherine Jane Forbert of Franklin, Tenn., and Scottland Jane Sanders of Meridian were flower girls.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were, Jay Lester Carruth of Enterprise, Chad Ryan Haarala and Michael Andrew VanVeckhoven, all of Meridian, Joseph Patrick Tinsley of Mobile, Ala., Timothy Joe Pinkham of Atlanta, Joseph Allen Simpson of Ridgeland, Van Christopher Hollis of Starkville and Brett Dewayne Ivey of Meridian,
Ushers were Sam Forbert and David Forbert, both of Franklin, Tenn. Christopher Carruth of Enterprise was ring bearer.
Program attendants were Lauren Zettler and J.J. Zettler of Meridian.
A reception was hosted by the bride's grandparents and held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
Assisting at the reception were Col. and Mrs. Sam Forbert, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Becker of Brookhaven and Elizabeth Ann Killingsworth of Port Gibson.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the home of Dr. and Mrs. David Allen Geer.
On the day of the wedding, the wedding party and family were enjoyed a brunch at the home Mr. and Mrs. Milburn VanVeckhoven. The bridesmaids' luncheon was held at Caf Latte in Meridian.
After a honeymoon in the Caribbean, the couple resides in Meridian.
