WAYNESBORO Services for Ben E. May will be held today at noon at Spiritual True Holiness Church in Shubuta with Bishop Kenneth Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Cokes Chapel Cemetery in Shubuta. Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. May, 59, of Hinesville, Ga., died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Ga. He was a retired first class sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his daughters, Dung May of Atlanta and Kim T. May of Honolulu; a son, Doan V. May of Hinesville, Ga.; sisters, Cora House of Shubuta and Dorothy Paul of Brewton, Ala.; brothers, A.J. Evans of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Jessie May of Washington, D.C.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m.-noon at the church.
Services for Alex Savell will be held today at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Collinsville with the Revs. Jerry Alexander, Andy Murray and Alan Sims officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery in Duffee. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Savell, 27, of Chunky, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was a member of First Baptist Church Collinsville where he participated in various musical activities. He was a 1994 graduate of Newton County High School and received an associate degree in nursing in 2000 from East Central Community College and an associate degree in music. He was employed at Whitfield Hospital in Jackson, where he was nighttime supervisor and worked part time at Laird-Alliance in Union as night relief supervisor. He was a former member of Meridian Demolay Chapter, Master Mason at Little Rock Lodge, Master of Little Rock Lodge, where he served one and one half terms. He was a member of the York Rite bodies,and was the former pianist for Disciple Quartet.
Survivors include his father, James D. Savell of Chunky; mother, Mary Lee Tolbert of Little Rock; a sister, Casey Michelle Savell; a brother, Jamie Savell; his grandparents, James and Audie Savell of Chunky and Georgia Lene Mabry of Collinsville; and several cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, M.O. "Buddy" Mabry.
Memorials may be made to Little Rock Lodge No. 573.
Pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge. Honorary pallbearers will be David Scarbrough, Joey Thrash, Alan Knight, Marty Alexander, Kevin Smith, Michael "Tiny" Clearman, James Allen and Rick Burkett.
QUITMAN Graveside services for Roland Stallings will be held at Sunday at 2 p.m. at McGowan's Chapel Cemetery with the Revs. Gayle Pope and George Anderson officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stallings, 77, of Vossburg, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn B. Stallings of Vossburg; a daughter, Dorothy Ayyash of Bruce; brothers, Raymond Stallings of Pachuta and Vernon Stallings of Brentwood, Calif.; a sister, Lois Cook of Vossburg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Mattie Lou Cox will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Cox, 102, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her son, Wallace B. Cox of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 81, of Toxey, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include his son, Arthur D. "Pete" Smith of Toxey; and a brother, Franklin Thomas Reynolds of St. Cloud, Fla.

Mr. Wedgeworth, 94, of Lauderdale, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Rew Wedgeworth, and his daughter, Bonnie Hamner and her husband, Sonny, all of Lauderdale; a granddaughter, Ann Thompson and her husband, Jackie, of Bailey; a grandson, Sammy Hamner of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Mark Thompson and his wife, Brooke, and Jaclyn Haguewood and her husband, Chuck, all of Bailey; sisters, Nell Dial of Cuba, Ala., and Dorothy Shaw of DeKalb; a nephew, Samuel Ray Williams of Lauderdale; and several other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Thompson, Mark Thompson, Chat McGonagill, Chuck Braddock, James Otis Boswell and Sammy Hamner.

Ms. Irwin-Sibum, 59, of Everett, Wash., died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds, Wash.
Survivors include her sister, Sylvia Irwin of Everett, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Sylvester and Martha Virginia McGowen Irwin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
