Myrick has tough day two

Meridian Community College golfer Joel Myrick shot an 80 at Oakmont Country Club in the final day of stroke play at the U.S. Amateur on Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
The Eagles' linkster entered the second day of the national tournament tied for 28th place out of 312 golfers, but he missed the final cut of 64 to advance to match play that begins today.
Myrick qualified for the U.S. Amateur on Aug. 5 at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Course.
He shot a 75-70145 to earn a spot in the tourney in Pennsylvania.
Myrick said being around the top amateurs in golf will help his game.
Though he missed the cut to advance to match play, which begins toady runs through Sunday, the sophomore golfer said he had a great time at the tournament.
