Industrial hygienist, former pastor
ABERDEEN Services for Willie S. Mosley Jr. will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Aberdeen High School Gymnasium. Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Meridian. Jackson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mosley, 58, of Aberdeen, formerly of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in his home. He was employed with Kerr-McGee Chemicals as an industrial hygienist for 32 years. He also was pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, Alvinia Mosley of Aberdeen; a son, Stacy Mosley and his wife, Monique, of Aberdeen; his mother, Pearl Longmire Mosley of Meridian; brothers, Ronald Mosley and his wife, Sharon, of Atlanta and Raymond Mosley of Meridian; sisters, Rose Mary Mosley of Jackson and Earrie Mosley of Meridian; three grandchildren, four step- children, three step-grandchildren, one step great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Friday noon to 8 p.m.
Domestic worker
Services for Rosetta Moss will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Barney officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba.
Mrs. Moss, 84, of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Meridian.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary E. Barney of Toomsuba, Louise Moss, Christine Brown and Valonia Landrum, all of York, Ala.; a son, Robert Moss of Kewanee; and a sister, Lula Brown of Meridian.
Laborer
Services for Emmitt L. "BoBo" Darden will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sephus Primitive Baptist Church in Porterville with the Rev. Leslie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home of DeKalb in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Darden, 45, of Porterville, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, in Porterville.
Survivors include his children, Emmitt Bohannon of DeKalb and TeVica Bramlett of Meridian; brothers, Willie Darden and his wife, Sharon, and Lonnie Darden his wife, Gracie, all of Porterville, Johnnie Darden and his wife, Ollie Jean, and Sammy Darden and his wife, Donna, all of Picayune; sisters, Mamie Walker, Shirley Walker, Eurie Greer, Della Hill and her husband, Jessie, all of Porterville, Dorothy Gully and her husband, Jessie, of Alabama, Earlie Mae Lewis and her husband, Luther, and Sandra Darden, all of Lauderdale, Mary Joseph and her husband, Joe, and Martha Darden, all of New York, Rosie Black and her husband, Willie, of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Visitation will be Friday 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb.
Services for Doris Miller will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Independence Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Davenport Cemetery in Shubuta with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Miller, 71, of Meridian, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her sons, Bill Miller, Larry Blakney and Randy Blakney, all of Meridian, and George Blakney of Anaheim, Calif.; daughters, Carolyn Harper of Chicago, Emma Easson and JoAnn Blakney, both of Meridian; brothers, Boyd Miller of Idaho, Jesse Miller and Louis Miller, both of Chicago; sisters, Mary J. Washington of Chicago and Ann Chatman of Shubuta.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Friday 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Homemaker
DEKALB Services for Annie L. Adams will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brown Ridge Baptist Church in DeKalb with the Rev. Bennie Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Adams, 74, of DeKalb, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her children, Eddie D. Adams, Rosie Lee Adams and Jeanette Adams; sisters, Ida Mae Boyd, Dorothy Jean Boyd and Amie Bennamon and a brother, Willie Lee Boyd, all of DeKalb; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two children and a grandson.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Retired teacher
Services for Delita L. Brooks will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery with Berry and Gardener Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brooks, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Riley Nursing Center.
Survivors include her aunt, Edna Smith; cousins, Leola Sims, Melanie Jones, Dairn Sims and Lamont Sims, all of Meridian; and a sister-in-law, Rose Brooks of Detroit.
Visitation will be Friday 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Helen Kyle, 93, of Meridian, who died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
