Brenda Rosamond Hawkins and Jamison Hunt Posey were married at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Vicksburg. The Rev. Michael Christopher Nation officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Edward Hawkins of Vicksburg, Mr. and Mrs. Robert David Posey of Meridian and Theresa Babin of Alexandria, La.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lancaster of Hattiesburg and the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Hubert Rayborn of Sumrall.
The bridegroom is the grandson Mrs. Reuben Posey and Mrs. F.L. McLemore of Meridian.
Nuptial music was provided by Dorothy Brasfield, organist; Dr. Allan Lessem, Dr. Lara Clement and Dr. Darcie Bishop, musicians; and Linda Clark, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless designer gown of ivory matte satin adorned with seed pearls and bugle beads that accented the bodice and fitted waistline that flowed into an A-line skirt.
Covered satin buttons complemented the back of the gown that swept into a cathedral-length train. She wore a veil of silk illusion adorned with seed pearls and carried a bouquet of white roses with lemon leaves hand-wrapped with white satin ribbon with seed closures.
Rebecca Davis Hawkins of Savannah, Ga., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Virginia Helen Abraham, Alison Ann Ketner and Katherine McLaren Todd, all of Oxford, Michelle Hardy Hawkins and Alison Elizabeth O'Neal of Jackson, Windy Ward May and Susan Erika Wasserman of Memphis, and Kristen Carmichael Phillips of Atlanta.
Rebecca Lynn Sharp of Meridian, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were James Michael Hartman of Meridian, Justin Ryan Winn of Memphis, Tenn., Russell Edward Hawkins Jr., Paul Jeffrey Schoeneck Jr. and William Charlton Wilson, all of Jackson, Pharis Neal Godfrey and Larry Douglas Covert Jr., both of Houston, Texas, and Arthur Lane Stewart of New Orleans.
Verger was Herbert Watson Jones. Lay eucharistic ministers were Charles Raymond Hume and Edward Earl Shelnut. Crucifer was Michael Thomas Engle. Torch bearers were Robert Kenna Blakeney and Janice Marie Blakeney.
Wedding banner bearer was Michael Woodrow Chancellor Jr. Clergy cross bearer was Earl Rodrick Cauthen IV and gospel book bearer was Ashtin Berkeley Giambrone. Lectors were Holly Posey Sharp, Sharon Lynn Hawkins and Stacia Hawkins Weir of Memphis, Tenn.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Crown's Point, the home of Karen Ruggles.
The reception was held at the B'nai B'rith Literary Club following the ceremony.
Following a wedding trip, the couple resides in Oxford.
