Leadership Lauderdale Youth turns three years old this year.
The youth program is similar to the adult Leadership Lauderdale program that provides training in leadership and stresses the need for volunteerism in the community.
The youth program is under the direction of the Mississippi State University Extension Service.
In Monday's editorial board interview, Randall explains how 11th grade students can get involved in the program and what activities are planned for this year, including the study of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens."
Randall adds that without the program, some students would never have the chance to experience activities outside of school.
